History
On January 25, 1972, two young members of Regnum Christi from the section in Madrid, Spain joined the lay consecrated life, then called third degree after completing a discernment retreat. That was the first secular consecration of men in Regnum Christi, from which the Society of Apostolic Life Lay Consecrated Men was formed and continues to this day: first as the members of the third degree, then as a Private Association of the Faithful, and now as a Society of Apostolic Life.
The availability and generosity of those young men historically bore fruit in the establishment of male lay consecrated life in Regnum Christi, thus allowing other members of Regnum Christi to find and live this vocation.

Foundation of the first formation center for lay consecrated men of Regnum Christi in Madrid.
July 1, 1974
International Course
International course for young members of Regnum Christi at Reajo del Roble (Madrid). Spanish and Mexican youth share this experience which is crucial for the expansion of lay consecration of Regnum Christi to Mexico.

First Year of Formation
The first Year of Formation (1974-1975 academic year) begins for members of the lay consecrated men in in Madrid, Spain.
April 13, 1973
First group of lay consecrated men in Mexico
The first eight Mexicans (from Mexico City) to become lay consecrated included two future general directors of Regnum Christi, Fr. Álvaro Corcuera LC and Fr. Eduardo Robles Gil LC.

Center for Lay Consecrated Men (Mexico)
Foundation of the center for lay consecrated men of Regnum Christi in Mexico City.
January 1, 1978
Center for Lay Consecrated Men (Dublin)
Foundation of the center for lay consecrated men of Regnum Christi in Dublin. Since 1976 a few Irish men embraced a vocation to the lay consecrated life in Regnum Christi.

First Visit of Pope John Paul II
First visit of Pope John Paul II to Mexico. The Legion of Christ and the Regnum Christi Movement actively collaborated in the visit, particularly the men of the lay third degree.
